Available Positions
HVAC Engineer
We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated HVAC engineer that is excited about developing highly efficient and sustainable design solutions in a cooperative architectural environment.
This is a growth position with an opportunity to influence SHP’s vision of becoming the premier sustainable design firm as well as his/her own destiny within the profession.
The principle responsibilities of an HVAC engineer includes:
- Energy and daylight modeling and analyses to optimize overall building design.
- Design of HVAC systems for various types of clients including educational, institutional, and commercial office facilities.
- System types to include central chiller and boiler plants, hot and chilled water distribution, VAV, geothermal systems, ice storage, exhaust systems, dust collection, etc.
- Development of the design criteria which defines system requirements.
- Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems.
- Development of final design/construction/bid documents including specification, sequences of operation.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
- Must have the ability to follow direction and to collaborate with other team members.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Professional Engineer registration in Ohio (or ability to become registered).
Experience with Revit and/or BIM is desirable.
LEED Accredited Professional is desirable.

Electrical Engineer

- Design of power, lighting, fire alarm, electrical service, security, and technology systems for various types of clients including educational, institutional, and commercial office facilities.
- Voltage drop and fault current analyses.
- Development of the design criteria which defines system requirements.
- Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems.
- Development of final design/construction/bid documents including specification, sequences of operation.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
