Green design is not an all-or-nothing approach. You may simply want to maximize the use of daylighting or specify more environmentally friendly materials. You may want to incorporate all of the sustainable design practices necessary to achieve LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, or you may want to apply those principles without registering your building. Wherever you fall on the sustainability spectrum, our Green Team of LEED-accredited professionals will help you achieve the right sustainable solution for your project. Every sustainable choice you make has implications for the rest of the building and site design.
Our Green Team will assess your overall project needs and goals, evaluate your budget and provide you with green strategies that align your interests with environmentally responsible design. We will help you understand what the Total Cost of Ownership is over the lifetime of your building and how that relates to your construction investment. According to expert studies, when designed with a totally integrated green strategy, green buildings can realize as much as $50 to $75 a square foot of savings over a 20-year lifespan. In fact buildings that were LEED certified gold and platinum (those with the highest levels of design integration) have shown the most significant return on investment. But even if LEED certification is not your ultimate goal, there are many good decisions that can be made to conserve resources and provide a healthier environment. SHP Leading Design has the experience to help you understand the connections between sustainable design strategies, so the end result is exactly the right shade of green for you.
In addition to those services regularly incorporated into each project, our green services include:
