SHP's Building Information Modeling Blog is Now Live

To showcase our thought leadership on Building Information Modeling (BIM), SHP Leading Design is pleased to announce we now have a BIM blog.  The blog, www.bimreality.com , is a way for Aaron Phillips, SHP's Director of Technology and BIM Services, to introduce cutting edge ideas surrounding BIM and communicate with other professionals.

"BIM Reality is a blog about the exciting world that I get to live in on an everyday basis at SHP Leading Design," Phillips said.  "The topics that I will be posting will range from using an IPD and BIM Process, to leveraging collaboration for a project team, to figuring out how to link facilities databases to models."

Mr. Phillips is arguably one of the most knowledgeable people in the nation regarding the application of BIM technology to the design, construction and facility management process.  He is responsible for the implementation of over 100 Revit system applications within SHP (including architectural and MEP) over a ten-month period, generating $1 billion of construction costs for over 160 projects.

Aaron and his team are also members of the Autodesk Developer’s Network (ADN), for whom they’re developing BIM applications using their application protocol interface (API).  Autodesk also teamed with Aaron to create process whitepapers for how to use Revit and Ecotect Analysis 2010 to create conceptual energy simulations.
