SHP Leading Design has completed design on a 5,200 SF single story, $1.5M facility on a five acre site of donated land. SHP services included site master planning for a future addition (the library expects to double in size in the next 10 years), as well as a city-developed community center behind the property.
Key features include:
- A main reading area (2,700 SF for stacks, adult reading, children’s and teen areas), a multi-purpose community room (for meetings, presentations, etc.), workroom, break room and storage
- The openness of glass enables the multi-purpose room to communicate with and support the main reading area during the day
- Direct access to the multi-purpose room offering a small kitchenette and complete AV systems during the evening permits community use when the library is closed
- The building’s efficient design is reflected not only in building form but also in systems
