SHP Employee Wins 2011 AIA Kentucky Award

(Cincinnati) – SHP Leading Design is proud to announce that Eric Steva, AIA, LEED AP, was awarded the 2011 Distinguished Service Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Kentucky at the AIA Ohio Valley Regional Convention. Steva is an architect in SHP’s Cincinnati Office.

“The entire organization is extremely proud of Eric, his accomplishments and his dedication to the AIA,” SHP President Lauren Della Bella said.

Since 2001, Eric has served as an AIA leader continuously, from Northern Kentucky Chapter Secretary, to chapter President, to state Board Member, and ultimately as AIA Kentucky President. Throughout that time and still today, Eric has not only provided thoughtful leadership but also a lot of positive energy and enthusiasm.

“He has made a strong and lasting commitment to AIA Kentucky and especially the Northern Kentucky Chapter, where his leadership abilities have been invaluable,” Janet Pike from the AIA Kentucky said.  “When you are advancing the efforts of a chapter with less than 50 members, this can be quite challenging at times.  Eric’s peers credit him with leading a sort of “re-birth” of the chapter over the past decade.”

Steva was also integral in the coordination of the AIA Ohio Valley Regional Convention.  He has also assisted with the planning of several other state and regional conventions.
